Pope County will light its courthouse green from Nov. 4–11 as the county joins Operation Green Light, a nationwide show of support for veterans during the week leading up to Veterans Day.

County Judge Ben Cross announced Monday that Pope County will take part in the program, which is led by the National Association of Counties and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers. Counties, parishes and boroughs across the country are being invited to light their buildings green that week.

By shining a green light, county governments and residents let veterans know they are seen, appreciated and supported. More about the program is available from the National Association of Counties.
