RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — Krystle Manning has been promoted to assistant chief of public safety at Arkansas Tech University, Chief of Public Safety Tammy Dougan announced Monday, Oct. 19.
Manning is no stranger to the department. She joined ATU Public Safety in July 2019 and has served as its training sergeant since 2024.
“Sgt. Krystle Manning has dedicated the past seven years to serving the Arkansas Tech University Department of Public Safety, demonstrating a strong commitment to leadership, training and the well-being of our officers and campus community,” Dougan said. “Throughout her career, she has consistently shown initiative, compassion and a passion for developing others. Her experience and dedication make her a valuable asset to our department, and I am confident she will continue to make a positive impact in her new role as assistant chief.”
The appointment comes as Manning works toward a degree of her own at Tech. She is in her senior year pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in organizational leadership and is enrolled in ATU’s accelerated bachelor’s to master’s program, continuing toward a Master of Arts in organizational leadership and learning.
Her service has already drawn honors on and off campus. Manning was the inaugural winner of the ATU Community Service Award from ATU Staff Senate in 2024, and she received the 2025 Servant’s Heart Award from the Arkansas Association of Chiefs of Police (AACP).
