Paul Turner

1936 - 2026

Paul H. Turner, 90, of Delaware, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville, Arkansas, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of hard work, devotion to family, and a life deeply rooted in the land and the values he held dear.

Born June 11, 1936, in Yell County, Arkansas, Paul was the son of J.D. and Jessie Moore Turner. Raised in a time when hard work, a man’s word, and a willingness to help others were measures of character, Paul carried those values throughout his 90 years. He belonged to a generation of men who understood that a meaningful life was built not through recognition or possessions, but through honest labor, personal responsibility, and love for family.

Paul spent his working years as a farm manager, a profession that reflected both his knowledge of the land and his strong work ethic. Farming was more than an occupation to Paul; it was a way of life. He understood the satisfaction of a long day’s work, the rewards of patience and perseverance, and the importance of caring for the land entrusted to him. Whether tending to the fields, managing the daily responsibilities of the farm, or simply enjoying the outdoors, Paul was most comfortable where there was work to be done and a purpose to fulfill.

Away from his responsibilities, Paul found happiness in the simple pleasures of country living. He enjoyed coon hunting, spending time outdoors, and working in his garden. There was something special about the quiet satisfaction he found in growing things, watching the seasons change, and enjoying the beauty of the Arkansas countryside. His love of the outdoors was not merely a pastime but a reflection of the life he knew and appreciated.

Above all, Paul’s greatest pride was his family. As a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, he had the extraordinary blessing of seeing his family grow across five generations. Few accomplishments in life can compare to the legacy of children, grandchildren, and generations yet to come. Through his example, Paul passed along lessons of determination, loyalty, responsibility, and the importance of family. His influence will continue to be felt in the lives of those who follow him.

Paul was a member of Dardanelle Missionary Baptist Church, where his church family was an important part of his life. His faith and the enduring values of his upbringing provided a foundation through the many seasons of his journey.

Throughout his 90 years, Paul experienced both the joys of a life well lived and the heartache of losing those he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Elsie L. Turner; his second wife, Ann Turner; and his daughter, Sabra Troutman. Their memories remained a treasured part of his life’s story.

He leaves behind a loving family that includes Kenneth Eubanks and wife Donna; Billie C. Williams; Paul McGuire (JoAnna); Mary Hoyt; Eddie Chronister and wife Brenda; Glen Chronister and wife Cheryl; Kay Roberts and husband Kenny; and Terry Chronister. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

Paul Turner was a man whose life spoke through his actions. He understood the value of an honest day’s work, the importance of keeping family close, and the blessings found in life’s simplest moments. His was a life measured not merely by the passing of 90 years, but by the work of his hands, the strength of his character, and the generations of family who carry his legacy forward.

The fields he tended will see another season, the gardens will bloom again, and the years will continue to pass. But the seeds of love, strength, and wisdom Paul planted in the hearts of his family will continue to grow for generations to come.
