ATU has planned its Veterans Day 2026 observance for Wednesday, Nov. 11, starting with a flag raising at 11 a.m. on the lawn between Tucker Coliseum and the Doc Bryan Student Services Center.
The public is invited to attend.
The ATU Major General William E. Harmon Office of Veteran Services is presenting the event. Its mission is to “assist veterans, guardsmen, reservists and their dependents in taking full advantage of all educational benefits to which they are entitled and to assist in their transition to student life and to persist until they have attained their educational goal.”
After the flag raising, veterans with a valid identification card can get a free lunch, offered by the ATU Major General William E. Harmon Office of Veteran Services and Sodexo, food service provider at Arkansas Tech. Lunch service will begin at 11:30 a.m. in Chambers Cafeteria.
Tammy Dougan will speak at the lunch. Dougan is a first sergeant in the Arkansas Army National Guard and chief of public safety in the ATU Department of Public Safety.
