RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — Got a little cheerleader or dancer in the family? Arkansas Tech University is giving young performers a chance to learn some new moves and show them off in front of a football crowd.
The university’s spirit squads will host a youth cheer and dance clinic on Saturday, November 7, for children in kindergarten through seventh grade.
The clinic runs from 9 to 11 a.m. at ATU’s Hull Physical Education Building, where participants will learn the fundamentals of cheerleading and dance.
And the fun doesn’t stop when the clinic ends.
Participants will have the opportunity to take the field later that afternoon for a special performance ahead of the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys football game.
The young cheerleaders and dancers will perform at 1:30 p.m. at Simmons Bank Field at Thone Stadium, just before the Wonder Boys kick off at 2 p.m.
The cost is $40 per participant.
It’s a chance for kids to pick up some new skills, spend time with ATU’s spirit squads and experience a little game-day excitement from the field.
Registration and additional information are available at www.atucheer.com.
