Entergy said the steam was normal and did not pose a safety concern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3 wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis steam is clean, non-radioactive water vapor associated with plant recovery activities,\u201d the company said in its statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3 wp-block-paragraph\">Unit 2 remains safe and stable as crews work to return it to service. Entergy did not provide an estimated timeline for restarting the reactor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3 wp-block-paragraph\">The company also emphasized that the incident did not pose a danger to employees or nearby residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3 wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere has been no impact to the health and safety of plant personnel or the public,\u201d Entergy said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p3 wp-block-paragraph\">Arkansas Nuclear One, located on Lake Dardanelle just outside Russellville, operates two nuclear reactors that generate electricity for the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"p4 wp-block-paragraph\">Entergy did not specify which weather-related conditions caused the shutdown or whether Unit 1 was affected.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RUSSELLVILLE \u2014 Weather-related conditions caused one of the two nuclear reactors at Arkansas Nuclear One to shut down Tuesday morning, Nov. 3, according to a statement from Entergy.
